Step 1: Determine your Group Size
 
Certain lakes are better for larger groups than others. If you’re traveling with a larger group, we would suggest narrowing it down to either Lake Mead or Lake Powell. Both of those lakes include plenty of recreational opportunities. On the other hand, if your outline will include just a few adventurers, you might be better suited for a Lake Mohave houseboat vacation.
 
Step 2: Choose a Time Frame
 
Do you have your sights set on the month of June? Or would you prefer cooler temps? It’s important to establish what types of activities you’re looking forward to before reserving your stay. If you’re looking to spend most of your time in the water, aim for a summer date. However, if you’re planning your trip around when certain fish bite, you might want to book your trip during the cooler months. 
 
Step 3: Create a List of Desired Activities

But if you prefer lots of outdoor exploring, you might decide on Lake Powell because of the many hiking trails and monuments to see along the way.
