# 1. Extra Clothes

Lake Mead, Lake Mohave, and Lake Powell all maintain mild winter temperatures—especially in comparison to America’s northern states. Of course, it still gets chilly at night. Pack extra clothing so that you can easily add or take off layers, especially if you plan on hiking. Also, remember that clothes and shoes won’t dry as quickly during the winter as they would on a hot summer day. Bring extra socks and shoes to keep your feet dry and warm.
# 2. Proper Outerwear
Be sure to bring a warm hat, gloves, jacket, and pants. Fleece or microfleece vests and jackets work great even if they get damp, plus they don’t take up much room in your suitcase.
