This year marks the 100th Anniversary of the United States National Parks Service. In celebration, the National Parks Service launched a special program called, “Every Kid in a Park,” which provides a free annual park pass to all fourth-grade children across the nation. This program, in addition to the Junior Ranger program and other park-specific activities, all share the same goal: helping kids get involved and excited about our National Parks.
The popular National Parks Service Junior Ranger Program encourages kids aged five through 13 to “Explore, Learn, and Protect” our country’s natural treasures. The National Park Service website includes printable coloring and activity books for kids. Combat the cries of “Are we there yet?” by giving kids these books for the travel to the park.
